"Pay or Play" (Employer Shared Responsibility)
Beginning in 2014, large employers (at least 50 employees) who do not offer affordable health insurance that provides a minimum level of coverage to their full time employees will be subject to a "pay or play" penalty. The penalty is triggered if at least 1 full time employee receives a premium tax credit or cost sharing reduction for purchasing individual coverage through one of the Health Insurance Exchanges.
